As an elementary school teacher, Karen was frustrated by the number of children who passed through her classroom each year unable to reach their full potential because of one thing, low self-esteem.  So in 2003 she started Esteemed Kids out of her desire to help children identify and develop their own unique gifts.  Through a variety of creative and playful programs she encourages and inspires kids to tap into their own inner wisdom.

 

Karen has a BA in education from San Diego State University and a teaching credential for grades K-12.  Since 1986 she has taught a variety of different grades for Oceanside Unified and has been a reading tutor and GATE instructor for Carlsbad Unified School District.  In addition, she is a licensed Brain Gym® instructor, which is an innovative program that uses simple body movements to integrate all areas of the brain to enhance learning and build self-esteem.
